After the Falklands: Finally ending the nightmare of PTSD.

Thank you for visiting "After The Falklands"

The aim is very simple; to raise £1,000,000 to help war veterans who are suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder / PTSD.

Many Falklands veterans have suffered for as long as 25 years from this terrible injury to their mind. Of the 30,000 British service personnel who served in the campaign up to 2,700 are potential casualties of PTSD. And over 300 have committed suicide since returning home from the war.

These veterans have received little effective treatment or support to recover from their PTSD. They suffer in their own private hell – often resorting to drugs and alcohol to medicate themselves against the nightmares and flashbacks. For many their families could not handle the strain and they have experienced family breakdown, divorce, dysfunctional relationships and ultimately a solitary life isolated from reality by their condition.

But now there is new hope.

A new programme that trains PTSD casualties how to overcome their symptoms has given good results. And with the support of P3, the social inclusion charity, we are now in a position to teach these PTSD casualties the techniques they need to live a normal life again.

Book cover: After the Falklands. But obviously these things cost money – so we have written a book “After the Falklands – finally ending the nightmare of PTSD” to raise awareness for these veterans and also to raise funds for the charity’s out-reach programme. £10 from every sale made through this website will be donated straight to the charity.

By the end of 2008 we intend to be offering this service to all veterans of all conflicts who are casualties of PTSD.
